Who is this course suitable for ?

This course has been designed for anyone who has an interest in learning about mindfulness and who has had little or no experience of consciously practicing mindfulness.

What would I get out of this Course?

As with any course, the more you engage with it, the more likely you are to reap the benefits.  Our lives are so busy, time-poor and frantic.  We are often desperately juggling the pressures of work and family obligations with day-to-day living.  This course not only gives you valuable skills to help you become more present in your life but it will also give you much needed time and space to chill out and nurture yourself.  Our centre is set on 10 acres in the beautiful Ferguson Valley, only a 30 minute drive from Bunbury. So when you commit to the course, you are committing to something even more important: yourself. 
    

What is the course about?

The Foundations of Mindfulness Course has been designed to be simple and approachable for most people, bringing informal mindfulness practices and skills into people's everyday lives.  Whilst the course has some meditative elements, the vast majority of the content is of a non-meditative, more practical approach.  It is designed for real people, leading real lives who want to benefit from the skills of mindfulness without the formality of a meditation practice. 

Content of the Course

The course covers the following:

  • What is autopilot and How it Impacts our Lives

  • What is Mindfulness

  • Myths and Misconceptions of Mindfulness

  • Benefits of Mindfulness

  • Cultivating an Attitude Conducive to Mindfulness including Being a Friend to Yourself 

  • Troubleshooting our Approach to Mindfulness and to Learning New Skills

  • Present Moment Awareness

  • Bringing Mindfulness into your Daily Life

  • Mini Mindfulness Practices

  • Prompts to help Establish Mindfulness Practice throughout your Day 

  • Concentration Exercises

  • Flexibility of Attention Exercises

How long is the Course?

The course is 4 sessions each lasting 3 hours.  Running the course over 4 weeks enables you to more firmly establish a home practice.

Where is the Course?

The course is held in our beautiful mindingu centre in the Ferguson Valley.

$595 including participant workbook and light refreshment
