About

My name is Lorna

Hello and welcome to mindingu.  I am Lorna, founder and main facilitator at mindingu. I am a passionate facilitator who creates a safe space for participants to take time out from the busyness of their lives for some nurturing “me” time and self development. I am so honoured be a part of this precious journey with our course attendees.

My personal journey into well-being began around 17 years ago when I faced a health challenge. This experience deepened my commitment to meditation, eventually leading me to become a meditation teacher. However, during my time as a meditation teacher, I realised that formal meditation practices may not be suitable for everyone. Some individuals may find it challenging to integrate these practices into their lives due to various reasons, including personal preferences or lifestyle constraints.

In response, I embarked on a quest to make mindfulness more accessible to a broader audience. This journey led me to extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which offers a user-friendly approach to mindfulness. ACT not only makes mindfulness accessible but also integrates values-guided goal setting to foster genuine and sustainable motivation for meaningful change.

Through my exploration of ACT, I discovered its flexibility, allowing for a customisable approach tailored to individual needs and lifestyles. This realisation has fueled my passion for helping others find well-being and meaning in their lives, empowering them to make lasting and fulfilling changes.
